Golf Article: Number Two

These golf articles are one of several new articles that may help you play better golf.

Is there a perfect golf swing?

Can you learn the perfect swing?
Golf can be played with any number of swings, which is best for you?

Homer Kelley, the author of "The Golfing Machine" was an engineer for Boeing Aircraft during World War II. He was responsible for correcting any design flaws of their new aircrafts.

His boss came to him one day saying, how cruel the game of golf is. I played Saturday and had complete control of my game. I had finally beaten the demon. I expected to play well forever. I went out to play Sunday, fully expecting to have the best game of my life. I was crushed. I had regressed to the level of a beginner. The demon was back on top. I had lost any and all control of the golf ball. This statement by his boss challenged Homer Kelley’s problem solving attitude. Homer Kelley never played golf, but he began studying the golf swing.

Homer Kelley's studies focused on the relationships between the Physics of striking a golf ball, the Geometry of the golf swing, and the ability of the human Body and Mind to create a consistently dependable and repetitive golf swing motion. Twenty-four years of study revealed the secrets and the differences between the swinging swing (The Centrifugal Force Swing) and the hitting swing (Muscular Force Swing).

There are ten differences between the Swinging Swing and the Hitting Swing.

  1. Clubface Motion
  2. Clubhead Release Motion
  3. Grip Placement
  4. Wrist action
  5. Active Left Wrist opposed to Active Right Elbow
  6. Swinging Right Arm opposed to Thrusting Right Arm
  7. Clubhead Acceleration
  8. Centrifugal Force opposed to Muscular Force
  9. Quick Start Down opposed to Slow Start Down
  10. Approach of Clubhead to ball

Once the dark cloud has been removed from the golf swing, the light will show you how simple the golf swing can be.
