Swinging Right Arm as Opposed to Thrusting Right Arm
The Golf Factory explains the swinging right arm as opposed to the thrusting right arm, the sixth of ten
distinctions between the two prefect golf swings.
The two perfect golf swings are The Centrifugal Force Swing (swinging swing) and
The Muscular Force Swing (hitting swing).
The sixth distinction is The SWINGING RIGHT ARM as opposed to the THRUSTING RIGHT ARE.
The distinction between the swinging right arm and the thrusting right arm is an active lag pressure
point or a passive lag pressure point. The lag pressure point is the contact pressure of the
club's grip against the first knuckle of the right index finger.
In the Centrifugal Force Swing (The Swinging Swing), the lag pressure point is active. It has the feel
that it is rotating a quarter of a turn, from the back of the grip (the part of the grip facing away from the target)
at address, to the top of the grip (the part of the grip facing upwards) at address, at the completion of the
backswing. It has no actual movement only the feel of movement. This feel of rotation allows the right arm
to fold upwards during the backswing. Then this feel allows the right arm to SWING downward toward the ground
during the forward swing, thus the swinging right arm.
In the Muscular Force Swing (The Hitting Swing), the lag pressure point is passive. It starts at the back
of the grip (at address) and stays there. This allows the cocking of the right arm, then allows the straight
line thrusting motion of the arm towards and through the impact with the golf ball, thus the thrusting right arm.
The swinging right arm must completely finish it's downward motion during the start of the downswing, before it has
any forward motion towards the target. The thrusting right arm moves in a straight line from the start of the
downswing through impact with golf ball, towards the target.
